Iran's pharmaceutical supply chain was already under severe stress from years of sanctions before the current conflict began. The war has added new disruptions: shipping routes through the Persian Gulf have become unreliable, the rial's continued depreciation makes imported medicines unaffordable for many hospitals, and some foreign pharmaceutical companies have stopped supplying Iran entirely to avoid sanctions compliance risk.
